Good to know — what this tool won't pretend to do
No fake "classic" templates
Drake, Distracted Boyfriend, Surprised Pikachu and friends are photos and film stills owned by other people. We won't ship cheap fake copies of them. Bring your own image — including a screenshot of one of those templates — and caption it however you like.
Always exports as a static image
If you upload an animated GIF, only its first frame is used. The result you download or share is always a single still image, never an animation.
Sharing depends on your browser
"Share from device" only appears if your browser supports sending the image straight to another app (common on phones, rare on desktop). "Copy image" only appears if your browser supports copying images to the clipboard. If you don't see them, download the image and share it manually instead.
Big images get resized on export
Very large photos are automatically scaled down to a maximum of 2400px on the longer side before export, to keep the tool fast and avoid crashing your browser tab.
Up to 20 layers per meme
You can add up to 20 text and sticker layers in total, so dragging and rendering stays smooth. Delete a layer you don't need to make room for another.
"Impact" font, recreated
The classic Impact font isn't installed on every device, so we bundle a free lookalike (Anton) for a consistent look everywhere — it won't be pixel-identical to Impact on every system.
